by Karen A. Grava - February 12, 2007

Dr. John W. Rowe, chairman of the Board of Trustees, has named a committee of faculty, staff, alumni, and others to search for a replacement for President Philip E. Austin, who will return to the faculty in September after 10 years in office.

Rowe also announced that Gov. M. Jodi Rell, president of the Board of Trustees, has agreed to serve on the search committee. He said her involvement demonstrates her strong commitment to the University.

Rowe, who is charged under the University by-laws with heading the search committee, said the committee will begin meeting this month. He is hopeful the search can be concluded in a timely manner.
