Nominations sought for academic advising awards

- February 5, 2007

Nominations are sought for the 2007 Outstanding Student Advisement and Advocacy Awards.

These awards honor faculty and professional staff members who exemplify excellence in academic advising of undergraduate students.

Academic advisors assist students in the development of meaningful educational plans that enrich their studies and promote the achievement of goals.

This award is one way in which the University expresses its commitment to this very important component of higher education.

Nominations are accepted from students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Online forms may be completed at the award website, or downloaded from the web site and faxed to 860-486-6379; mailed to Veronica Makowsky, Provost's Office, 352 Mansfield Road, Storrs, CT 06269; or dropped off at the Provost's Office on the first floor of Gulley Hall.

Printed forms are also available in the Provost's Office or from the director's office at each regional campus.

Nominations are due in the Provost's Office by Feb. 7. Nominees will be asked to provide their information by Feb. 23.

The recipients of the advising awards will be announced at the Instructional Excellence Recognition Dinner on April 26.
