Nominations sought for excellence in advising awards

The Office for Undergraduate Education and Instruction is seeking nominations of outstanding advisors for two advising awards. Awards will be presented at a dinner on April 24.

Academic advising assists students in the development of meaningful educational plans that enrich their studies and promote the achievement of goals. It is fundamental to creating the motivation to pursue academic excellence. These awards are one way in which the University expresses its commitment to this key component of higher education.

Both awards honors those who exemplify excellence in academic advising. The recipients will receive $500. The nomination forms and additional information are available at http://www.uei.uconn.edu.

Advisors may be nominated by faculty members, staff members, students or alumni.

Nominations for both awards must be submitted by Friday, Feb. 17.
