Provost’s Office Seeks Nominations
For 2005 Outstanding Advisor Awards

The Provost’s Office is seeking nominations of outstanding advisors for two advising awards.

Academic advising assists students in the development of meaningful educational plans that enrich their studies and promote the achievement of goals; it is fundamental to creating the motivation to pursue academic excellence. These awards are one way in which the University expresses its commitment to this key component of higher education.

Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award
This award honors faculty members who exemplify excellence in academic advising. The recipient will receive $500.

A faculty member may be nominated by another faculty member, a staff member, a student, or an alumnus/alumna.

Outstanding Professional Advisor Award
The Outstanding Professional Advisor Award honors professional staff members who exemplify excellence in academic advising. The recipient of this award will receive $500.

A professional staff member may be nominated by a faculty member, another staff member, a student, or an alumnus/alumna.

Nomination forms for either of these awards are available in the Provost’s Office in Gulley Hall, or online at http://www.uei.uconn.edu.

The deadline for nominations is Monday, Feb. 11.
