Trustees Seek Nominations
For Future Honorary Degrees

The Board of Trustees' Honors and Awards Committee is seeking nominations for honorary degrees for the Commencement ceremonies in December 2004 and May 2005.

The Board's criteria state, in part, that an honorary degree should be conferred "in recognition of extraordinary and lasting distinction (and) should represent the highest intellectual and moral values (of individuals) whose life and achievements serve as examples of the University's aspirations for its students."

Nominations may be submitted by any member of the faculty, staff, student body, alumni, or community. An individual may not nominate himself or herself. Nominations should be submitted by May 7.

For a complete statement of honorary degree criteria, nomination forms, and further information, please e-mail Lori.Nottage@ UConn.edu or call the Office of the President at 860.486.2333.
