The American Association of University Professors, UConn chapter, has announced the recipients of its 2006 awards for excellence in teaching, research, and service. They are:
Jayanthi Rajan, Marketing, AAUP Excellence Award for Teaching Promise;
Keith Conrad, Mathematics, AAUP Excellence Award for Teaching Promise;
David Reed Solomon, Mathematics, AAUP Excellence Award for Teaching Promise;
Earl Macdonald, Music, AAUP Excellence Award for Teaching Innovation;
John Enderle, Electrical & Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, AAUP Excellence Award for University Service.
Anne Hiskes, Philosophy and Research Ethics & Education for Stem Cell Research, AAUP Excellence Award for University Service.
The award recipients were selected by a committee including Janine Caira, professor of ecology & evolutionary biology; Ann Ferris, professor of nutritional sciences; Faquir Jain, professor of electrical & computer engineering; and James Rusling, professor of chemistry.
The honorees will receive their awards on Wednesday, April 26, in the Old Judiciary Room at the State Capitol, during a reception from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.
The event is open to all who wish to attend.
