The University invites faculty, staff and students to participate in a contest to design a new UConn ID card, also called the Husky One Card.
The design must include space for a photo, name and status, barcode, and a Husky One logo. The UConn logo must be selected from those that have been officially approved by the University. Please see www.uconn.edu/info/logos.php.
The ID must reflect the entire University, including the regional campuses. The winner will receive $250 in Husky Bucks. The deadline for entries is March 31. For information, go to: www.uconn.onecard.edu.
The next ID will use personal identification numbers instead of social security numbers.
Ruth Francis, manager of the One Card Office, says she has already received more than 20 designs from students.
“We would love to have faculty and staff participate and become part of the Husky Card’s history,” she adds.
Many faculty and staff members have the ID cards tucked away in their wallets, and may only use them for access to the UConn gym. But there are many other benefits in having a Husky One Card.
Husky Bucks, a debit account that can be accessed using your ID card, can be used for such purposes as buying meals at dining halls and other campus eateries, taking books out of the library, photocopying at certain locations, buying Jorgensen tickets, and making purchases at the UConn Co-op and convenience store.
