Nominations Sought For 2004 Advising Awards

The Provost's Office is seeking nominations for the 2004 Outstanding Faculty Advisor and Outstanding Professional Advisor awards.

These awards honor a faculty member and professional staff member who exemplify excellence in academic advising. Academic advising assists students in the development of meaningful educational plans that enrich their studies and promote the achievement of goals; it is fundamental to creating motivation to pursue academic excellence. These awards are one way in which the University expresses its commitment to this important component of higher education. Each award recipient will receive $500.

Nominations are due by March 1. Nomination forms are available in the Provost's Office (Gulley Hall building, first floor) or on the Web at http://www.uei.uconn.edu. An advisor may be nominated by another faculty or staff member, by a student, or by an alumnus.
