Henry Kissinger in the United Nations Room of the Student Union in 1958.

The 1959 Nutmeg yearbook called him "one of the country's most brilliant and controversial Political Scientists," after Dr. Henry Kissinger delivered the annual Brien McMahon Lecture in the fall of 1958. Kissinger, who attended a conference of newspaper opinion editors on the Storrs campus last week, was a professor at Harvard at the time of his 1958 visit. He's seen here in the United Nation's Room of the Student Union Building. Seated on the left is Nathan Whetten, then dean of the Graduate School.
