UConn Co-op Launches Book Donation Program

The UConn Co-op has launched a Giving Tree program that will donate books to charity.

Each month a different organization - such as a hospice, shelter, prison, literacy program, or other group - will be selected to receive books. The organization will give the Co-op a list of wished-for books and these titles will be listed on leaves on the Giving Tree. Interested donors can select a "leaf" and purchase the book for the program. The Co-op will obtain the books and deliver them to each month's recipient organization.

This month, the Giving Tree will donate books to Books for Babies, a project of Delta Kappa Gamma, Theta Chapter, an international women's educational organization. The project provides a book for each newborn baby in Windham Hospital. The organizers are requesting board books in English and Spanish, such as the classic Good Night Moon.
