Series Of Events April 28-30 A three-day series of events focusing on the Holocaust will start April 28. On April 28, Robert Skloot will speak on "The Theatre of the Holocaust" at 4 p.m., in the Studio Works Theatre of the Drama/Music Building. Skloot is former director of the University of Wisconsin-Madi son, Center for Jewish Studies, and a theater and drama professor. The lecture is co-sponsored by the Center for Judaic Studies and Contemporary Jewish Life and the dramatic arts department. The 18th Academic Convocation on the Holocaust on April 29 will center on the rescue of the Jews of Denmark during World War II. The event will feature a video, produced and directed by Alexandra Isles for Danish television, "The Power of Conscience: The Danish Resistance and the Rescue of the Jews. Following the program, there will be a memorial observance for victims of the Holocaust on the plaza of the Dodd Center. On April 30, Matthias Marburg, a graduate student from Germany pursuing a master's degree in Judaic studies will discuss, "New Hope (Tikvoh Hadoshoh): German Jewish Refugees in Connecticut." The event will take place at 12:15 p.m., Room 162 of the Dodd Center. |
