Honorary
Degree Nominations Sought
The University Board of Trustees' Honors and Awards Committee seeks nominations for honorary degrees for the 2003 Commencment. The Board's criteria state, in part, that an honorary degree should be conferred "in recognition of extraordinary and lasting distinction (and) should represent the highest intellectual and moral values (of individuals) whose life and achievements serve as examples of the University's aspirations for its students." Nominations may be submitted by any member of the faculty, staff, student body, alumni, or community. An individual may not nominate him- or herself. Nominations are due by October 4. For a complete statement of honorary degree criteria, nominations forms, and more information, please e-mail Lori.Nottage@uconn.edu or call the Office of the President at (860) 486-2333. |
