Employees Offered Special Deal
on September 28 Football Tickets David Letterman won't provide the halftime entertainment - the UConn Husky Marching Band is more exciting anyway - but the Division of Athletics is nonetheless hoping to fill Memorial Stadium Sept. 28 by offering UConn employees a buy-one-get-one-free package to the Huskies' football game against Ball State, Letterman's alma mater. A coupon allowing state employees to purchase as many as six tickets - three of them free - was enclosed in employees' Aug. 22 paycheck. The form can be used to purchase the tickets by mail (postmarked by Sept. 9) or at the Athletic Ticket Office by Sept. 11. The game will showcase UConn's newly minted, NCAA Division I football team, which is playing its final season at Memorial Stadium. Next year, the team moves into the new 40,000-seat Rentschler Field in East Hartford. |
