Health Center Celebration
Planned for May 21
By Pat Keefe

The atmosphere will be festive May 21 under the graduation Big Top in the faculty parking lot in Farmington, when the second annual UConn Health Center Celebration takes place.

The celebration, organized by the UConnCares Council, is intended to convey to volunteers and staff on behalf of the institution and administration a big "Thank You" for another year's efforts.

"It's a celebration of and for employees and volunteers," says Lisa Turner, a co-chair of the council.

"We want to thank them for their dedication and commitment."

The celebration is fun. There's food. There's entertainment. And there are information booths and raffles and give-aways.

The celebration begins at 11 a.m., with a special performance by the children from the Creative Child Care Center.

Celebration participants arriving at the tent will be handed a raffle ticket, making them eligible for a host of desirable prizes, all of which will be displayed publicly. UConnCares Council PAWS Award winners will receive additional raffle tickets for their civic virtues, on production of their Health Center ID. The raffle drawing will take place at 1:45 p.m. and winners need not be present.

The council asks that managers respect their employees' desire to attend where possible. Health Center employees and volunteers are encouraged to show their support for the institution by wearing their favorite UConn attire, where possible.
