Sunday, 4/7 - World Fest 2002. Opening event for Diversity Week. International food, crafts, cultural displays, and entertainment. Noon to 4 p.m., Rome Commons Ballroom, South Campus. Tuesday, 4/9 - Concert. Program of classical Latin music, performed by Cuarteto Latinoamericano. 7:30 p.m., Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets: $20-$24, with student/senior discount. for information call (860) 486-2260. Tuesday, 4/9 - Film. Documentary Hijab: an Act of Faith will be shown all day, Student Union. Tuesday, 4/9 - Holocaust Remembrance Day. Memorial Service, 5:30 p.m., Konover Auditorium, Dodd Center. Wednesday, 4/10 - National Day of Silence. Institutes a visible silence during which participants protest anti-lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, trans-sexual discrimination and abuse. Wednesday, 4/10 - Comedy Night. Comedians: Mimi Gonzalez & Joel Chasnoff. 9 p.m., Student Union Ball Room. Wednesday, 4/10 - Lecture. Women & Ethnic Humor, with Professor Regina Barreca. 7:30 p.m., Student Union Ball Room. Thursday, 4/11 - Panel Discussion. Panel on LGBTQ-Phobia: "Campus Crusade for Queers." Moderator: Stephanie Marnin, Rainbow Center. Noon, Room 375, Student Union. Thursday, 4/11 - Lecture. Are We Still Racist? Iraq, a Case Study, by Christopher Doucot, Muslim Students Association. Noon - 1 p.m., Room 382, Student Union. Thursday, 4/11 - Discussion. When Citizenship is Not Enough: Human Rights In U.S. - Puerto Rico Relations 4 p.m., Dodd Research Center. Thursday, 4/11 - Lecture. Horace Boyer will speak of his experience as a gospel choir director. 5 p.m., Community Room, African American Cultural Center. Thursday, 4/11 - Performance. Israeli Drummer and Kala Prasad, Indian classical singer. 7 p.m., Hillel. Friday, 4/12 - Lecture. Islam and Social Responsibilities, by Aamir Rehman, Director of Outreach at the Islamic Society of Boston. Noon - 1 p.m., African American Cultural Center. Friday, 4/12 - Diversity Week Event. Latino UConn Pageant, 8 p.m., Student Union Ballroom. Saturday, 4/13 - Closing Events. Community Mural Display, DJ Showcase, Freestyling/Breakdance Competition, Dance Dance Revolution. At various spots throughout the campus, banners will be available for all to share their thoughts about the strength of our diversity and the meaning of community. 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., Student Union Mall.
