Alumni Association Calls for
Scholarship Applications

The Alumni Association is seeking applications for its student scholarships.

Those eligible are:

  • current UConn undergraduates who will be full-time students in the 2002-2003 academic year;

  • UConn undergraduate seniors who are accepted for full-time, first year graduate studies at UConn for the 2002-2003 academic year.

T he evaluation of scholarship applicants is based on the following:
  • minimum cumulative GPA of 2.3;

  • financial need;

  • contributions to the University community;

  • letter of recommendation (university/community-related extra-curricul ar activities or employment).

O ther criteria taken into account but not required are:
  • alumni relatives;

  • Student Alumni Association member.

R ecipients of the alumni scholarships will be notified in January. Recipients must attend the awards ceremony held in the spring, in order to receive the award. The monetary amount of the scholarship will be credited directly to the students' fee bill. If the student does not attend UConn for the academic year 2002-2003, the scholarship will be forfeited.

Applications must be received, or postmarked, by Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 5 p.m. Faxed applications will not be accepted.
