Museum Holding Annual Bird Seed Sale

Attention bird lovers! From now through Friday, Sept. 28, you can order bird seed during the annual fund-raising sale by the Connecticut State Museum of Natural History at UConn.

The Museum fund-raiser is in partnership with G. Merritt Thompson and Sons General Store in Mansfield Depot, where seed will be available for pick-up on Saturday, Oct. 13. Thompson's carries a wide variety of bird and suet feeders, in addition to many other supplies and feed for animals of all types. For this fund-raiser, there is no sales tax. Information about the types of feed that will attract certain birds to your feeder, and seed you can order, is available in a flyer, obtainable by calling the Museum at (860) 486-4460. Proceeds benefit the Museum's educational programs, which reach 70,000 people around the state every year.
