Top Female Students Feted

Thirteen top female students were honored during a reception May 18 as the highest ranking women graduating from each school or college. They are this year's recipients of the University's Outstanding Academic Achievement Awards.

In addition, two students were feted as recipients of the 100 Years of Women Scholarship. The scholarship goes to a current UConn student or incoming student who demonstrates high academic performance and who, as a role model or advocate, has advanced the role and contributions of women in society.

The awards are co-sponsored by the Women's Center and the Chancellor's Commission on the Status of Women. The awards were established in 1992, in recognition of the 100 Years of Women at UConn celebration.
