Services were held Friday morning (October 22) in Prospect for Beth Biercevicz, a UConn education major who died several days after a car in which she was a passenger crashed into a utility pole. She was 19 years old. Also killed in the crash was Scott Piscitelli, 24, whose twin brother Christopher is a UConn graduate student.

Dozens of UConn students traveled to Prospect for the popular student's funeral. Biercevicz worked in the Hugh Greer Field House, and her sister, Coreen, is a UConn alumna. Coreen Biercevicz was engaged to Scott Piscitelli, who also was a UConn student for two years before transferring to the University of New Haven.

Piscitelli's funeral was held last Tuesday.
