Merrill elected to Alumni Association Board of Directors
Denise Merrill of Mansfield Center has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association. The election took place during the annual meeting of the association on June 5. Merrill is a 1998 graduate of the university. She is serving her fourth term as state representative from the 54th House District. Also elected to the board were Lawrence Morico '58, a retired educator; Steven Donen '80, president of SD Associates, a consulting firm in Hartford; and Joshua Dunn '92, an investment financial consultant.

Benton Museum bus trip to Boston set for September 18
Travel to Boston with the Benton Museum to see the first John Singer Sargent retrospective since his death in 1925. The Boston Museum of Fine Art presents more than 150 of the artist's greatest oils, drawings, and watercolors. Don't miss this opportunity to see the work of this famed 19th-century portraitist and painter. Take advantage of an optional trip to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum or explore the city on your own. The bus will leave Storrs at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, and return to Storrs around 6:30 p.m. The cost of the trip is $50, including transportation to Boston, admission to the MFA and Sargent exhibition, and soft drinks on the bus.
