The 100th Anniversary All-Time Team was selected in two ways. In 1969, UConn selected an All-Time team in conjunction with the 100th Anniversary of NCAA College Football. The 11 members of that team are also members of the current team..

The remaining 33 members of the All-Time Team were selected in a ballot of their peers and fans.

The team includes two representatives from the 1940's, three from the 1950's, six from the 1960's, five from the 1970's, 18 from the 1980's and 10 players from the decade of the 1990's.

Also in honor of the 100th anniversary of UConn football, the University will host a centennial celebration dinner on Saturday, October 24, at 5:30 p.m. in the Hugh S. Greer Field House. The dinner will follow the 1998 Homecoming match-up between Connecticut and the University of Rhode Island at 1:30 p.m. in Memorial Stadium.

The dinner will feature guest speakers from different eras of Husky Football and will honor the University of Connecticut 100th Anniversary All-Time Football Team. Former players and coaches from many eras of Husky Football are expected to attend, to share their memories and help celebrate a century of Connecticut football.

Dinner tickets are available to the public at $25 per person. The dinner will feature tailgate style fare and dress will be informal to accommodate those coming straight from the game. Tickets for the football game between UConn and URI may also be purchased for $12. Youth and senior citizen game tickets are $6.

For more information about the dinner, call (860) 486-3863.
