Hundred Years of Women scholarship announced
The University
has announced its annual 100 Years of Women scholarship. The
award goes to a UConn student who has served as a role model
or advocate for the role and contributions of women in society.
Faculty are encouraged to notify outstanding students who may
wish to apply. Applications are due by February 16.
Day of Pride banquet
scheduled for high school seniors
The University's 22nd Annual
Day of Pride banquet and awards ceremony will be held February 22,
in Putnam Refectory. High school seniors from across the state
will be honored for their outstanding academic and leadership
accomplishments. A reception will begin at noon, followed by
a buffet dinner and awards program at 1 p.m.
Save a life, give blood during the UConn blood
drive
The UConn blood drive starts next week at Jorgensen Gallery
on the ground floor of Jorgensen Auditorium. The hours are:

Help with tax returns available for retired in Storrs area
Volunteers will offer assistance in preparing income tax returns
at no charge for elderly and retired people in the Storrs area.
The service will be available from February 2 through April 15, at
Mansfield Senior Center, 303 Maple Road, Storrs. Hours are 9 -11
a.m., Monday and Friday, 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, no appointment necessary.
Bring your financial records for the year 1997. The service is
sponsored by the American Association of Retired Persons.
Financial
aid office issues reminder on application deadline
The Student
Financial Aid Office has issued a reminder that the 1998-99 deadline
for applications is March 1. Application materials for summer
1998, fall 1998, and spring 1999 are available at the Student
Financial Aid Office.
