A local teen fell five stories from a window in Hale Hall early on the morning of July 1.

Ryan C. Cornell, 18, of Codfish Falls Road, Storrs, who was visiting a friend attending orientation, suffered severe injuries and is at Hartford Hospital, where he was taken by LifeStar helicopter. His condition is listed as "critical but stable" by the hospital.

"I am very worried about Mr. Cornell and want his family to know how deeply concerned we are. Our thoughts and best wishes extend to him and his family for his recovery," said Carmen Vance, interim vice chancellor for student affairs.

The incident remains under investigation by University police.
