Campus Chronicles
A paper co-written by Peter Luh, professor of electrical and systems engineering, was named best transactions paper at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation in Albuquerque, N.M. The paper is titled "Scheduling Flexibly Manufacturing Systems for Apparel Production."

The Department of Linguistics was well represented at the Open Linguistics Forum, an international conference held at the University of Ottawa March 21-23. Howard Lasnik, professor of linguistics, presented a keynote address and also chaired the final session. Graduate students Satoshi Oku and Masao Ochi also gave presentations.
