Four faculty members have received American Association of University Professors (AAUP) Excellence Awards for teaching and research. The four will be honored during a ceremony at 10 a.m. May 2 at the state Capitol.

The winners are:

• Fotios Papadimitrakopoulos, assistant professor in the Institute of Materials Science, for teaching promise.

• George Allen, professor of psychology, for teaching mentorship.

• Ruth Millikan, professor of philosophy, and James Rusling, professor of chemistry, for teaching excellence.

A presentation also will be made at the ceremony to Thomas Fote, the AAUP's Nutmeg Scholarship recipient.
